Wisley Airfield – Save Our Greenbelt

Wisley Airfield is a former wartime airfield located in the Parish of Ockham near Wisley in Surrey. Originally a grass airstrip, the runway was converted to tarmac in 1952 and used to test aircraft built at Weybridge by Vickers. Flying ceased in 1973 because the runway was too short for large aircraft and was too close to Heathrow. All the structures on the site were removed, except for the runway, at the time the land was sold back to its principal former owner in 1980 for agricultural use.

The green and leafy fields of Surrey, in which Longcross; a dispersed village across a woodland and farmland area of Green Belt is a part of, should remain that way.
This Harris/Freedman Production illustrates our green and pleasant land in which for all to see.

A Record Of Land Search Conveyancing Query To Surrey Heath

Surrey Heath Borough Council announced last March 2014 that 22nd millionth National Land Information Service [NLIS] electronic conveyancing search was to Surrey Heath.

“Champagne was presented to Jane Luker, Local Land Charges Team Leader at Surrey Heath Borough Council who responded to the search requests from a local solicitor for a property in Camberley. The solicitor, using his NLIS SearchFlow connection, submitted his requests electronically to the council’s local land charges team who returned the completed LLC1 and CON29 searches back via the NLIS Hub and SearchFlow links to the solicitor in just under two days.”

Land Data Chief Executive Jan Boothroyd commented: “Now in its 13th year, NLIS continues to meet the needs of conveyancers who want authoritative, reliable and accurate conveyancing data delivered quickly and securely to their desktops.  The NLIS electronic end-to-end model is a proven success, bringing benefits to all parties concerned be they the data provider, the conveyancer and the consumer.”
